Taiwan-Invested HIWIN Corporation to Expand in Illinois

Abstract:

The Daily Herald, a newspaper in the Chicago area, recently reported that the Taiwan-based HIWIN Technologies Corporation is moving its U.S. subsidiary (HIWIN Corporation, www.hiwin.com) to a new site in Elgin, Illinois. The new facility will occupy 100,000 square feet of space, with capacity of expansion up to 200,000 square feet. HIWIN Technologies, www.hiwin.com.tw, was founded in Taiwan in 1989.

It later acquired Germany’s HOLZER GmbH and Taiwan’s Finest Ballscrew Company, and now is based in the Taichung Industrial Park. The company has six manufacturing and two R&D facilities in Taiwan, plus two manufacturing and a R&D facilities in Germany.

The company, with its subsidiaries in the U.S., Japan, Switzerland, and Czech Republic, exports ballscrews, linear guideways, linear bearings, linear stages, gantry and microsystem products throughout the world. For the details of the Daily Herald’s news report, please go to
